Thousands gather in Batley to see rare Islamic artefacts

Councillor A Zaman said: "We are absolutely delighted to have brought this event to Batley.

"For the first time ever, Batley Town Hall welcomed such a large audience for a spiritually enriching and historically significant occasion."

I am writing to express my wholehearted support for the continued recognition, funding, and national outreach of the Kiswa Arts and Culture Gallery Exhibition, a remarkable initiative that has already demonstrated its profound cultural and religious significance

The recent exhibition held in Batley was a powerful testament to the impact this event can have

Drawing over 3,000 attendees from across the region, the exhibition proved to be a unifying and enlightening experience for individuals and families from all walks of life. The sheer turnout and positive feedback speak volumes about the community’s appetite for authentic, meaningful, and educational experiences that connect them with Islamic heritage and history

The Kiswa Exhibition, showcasing the sacred cloth that covers the Kaaba, provides a rare and deeply spiritual encounter for audiences in the UK, many of whom may never have the opportunity to witness such sacred items firsthand. It is not only a celebration of Islamic tradition, but also a
platform for interfaith dialogue, cultural education, and the promotion of religious understanding and unity

Given its unique nature, growing popularity, and the evident demand from communities across the country, I strongly urge stakeholders, local councils, and national bodies to provide the necessary support and funding to allow this exhibition to travel nationwide. By doing so, we can ensure that
more people, especially younger generations, have the opportunity to engage with this inspiring and spiritually enriching experience.
The Kiswa Exhibition has already proven its value and potential. With the right backing, it can continue to uplift, educate, and inspire across the UK

Yours sincerely

Cllr Adam Zaman & Cllr Habiban Zaman
