As-salamu alaikum,

I wanted to express my deepest gratitude to Kiswat Al Kaaba for their exceptional exhibition event on Saturday, 5th July 2025. The guided walkthrough of the exhibition was a highlight of the event, providing attendees with a rich and nuanced understanding of the sacred artefacts on display. The thoughtful curation of the exhibition allowed attendees to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical context of the artefacts, sparking meaningful conversations and connections among attendees

This event was a wonderful opportunity for people who have not been on the pilgrimage to gain insight into the significance of these sacred artefacts and their importance within the Muslim community. By showcasing these artefacts in a community setting, Kiswat Al Kaaba has created a space for learning, reflection, and connection for those who may not have had the chance to experience the pilgrimage firsthand. The exhibition served as a bridge between cultures, allowing attendees to explore and appreciate the stories and traditions that are central to the Muslim faith

For me personally, the event brought back emotions of my own pilgrimage trip, evoking memories of the spiritual significance and cultural richness of the journey. I was particularly impressed by the detailed and insightful commentary provided by staff on the artefacts, providing attendees with a rich understanding of the history, cultural importance, and stories behind each piece. Their expertise and passion for sharing the significance of these artefacts greatly enhanced the experience for attendees. Attendees were engaged and curious, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their own perspectives, which added to the richness of the experience

I commend your team for their efforts in promoting cultural understanding and community connections through exhibitions like this one. By sharing the stories and significance of these sacred artefacts, you are helping to build bridges between communities and foster a greater appreciation for cultural heritage. I look forward to seeing the continued growth and impact of events in promoting cultural understanding, educational programming, and community outreach. I believe that initiatives like this play a vital role in strengthening community bonds and promoting mutual respect and understanding

I’m looking forward to working with you to organise another, but bigger exhibition in Nelson, building on the success of this event and sharing the beauty and significance of these artefacts with an even wider audience

Kind regards,
Councillor Ruby Anwar
Vice Chairman of Nelson Town Council
