Shaykh Recep Senturk BIMA
Dr. Recep Åžentürk is the Dean of the College of Islamic Studies at HBKU. He was the former Founding President of Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul (2017–2021). Dr. Åžentürk holds a PhD from Columbia University’s Department of Sociology, and specializes in Civilization Studies, Sociology, and Islamic Studies with a focus on social networks, human rights, and modernization in the Muslim world.

The Kiswat al-Kaaba team had the honour of hosting renowned Islamic scholar and global thought leader Shaykh Professor Recep Åžentürk at their exhibition stand during the BIMA National Conference 2025. His presence, wisdom, and deep appreciation for the sacred artefacts added immense value to the day

Shaykh Åžentürk—former President of the Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul, Founding President of the Institute for Human and Social Sciences (IHSS), and a key figure in Islamic intellectual circles worldwide—spent valuable time engaging with the team, carefully observing the historical Kiswah pieces from the Holy Kaaba and Rawdah

Visibly moved, he expressed his awe at the authenticity and preservation of the artefacts. He spoke with Sheikh Ilyas and the wider team, offering sincere support, scholarly insight, and strategic mentorship on how the project could evolve into a powerful educational platform and heritage hub for generations to come

His guidance affirmed the team's vision for the Kiswa Arts & Culture Gallery—a permanent space to preserve sacred Islamic artefacts and serve as an educational and interfaith centre to connect people through shared heritage and history
