Baroness Sayeeda Warsi Shares Support and Mentorship at Kiswat al-Kaaba Exhibition — BIMA National Conference 2025

Birmingham, UK — 28th June 2025:

The Kiswat Al Kaaba exhibition team were honoured to welcome Baroness Sayeeda Warsi at the BIMA National Conference 2025, where her time, insight, and heartfelt support left a lasting impact on the entire team

A trailblazing figure in British politics, Baroness Warsi was the first Muslim woman to serve in a British Cabinet and remains one of the most influential voices on faith, identity, and social justice in the UK today. At the conference, she hosted her own book stand directly opposite the Kiswah exhibition display. During the day, she engaged in a warm and thoughtful conversation with Sheikh Ilyas, and in a moment of generosity and symbolism, gifted him a signed copy of her powerful book, “Muslims Don’t Matter.”

Inside the book, she penned a deeply personal message:
“Because journeys matter. My best wishes, Sayeeda Warsi.”

Her presence was far more than symbolic. She gave valuable time to the Kiswat Al Kaaba team, listened to the project’s vision, and offered mentorship and strategic guidance on how initiatives like the proposed Kiswa Arts & Culture Gallery could create lasting community impact through education, heritage, and interfaith dialogue

“Having someone of her stature stop, listen, and support what we’re building—it meant everything. Her sincerity and message have stayed with us,” shared one of the team members
