The grandeur of Bradford City Hall came alive on the 22nd of February as the sacred artefacts of the Holy Kaaba and Madinah were displayed at the Kiswat al-Kaaba Exhibition. Among the distinguished attendees was Rashad Bokhari, CEO of the Council for Mosques, who joined an esteemed group of dignitaries, including Cllr Susan Hinchcliffe (Leader of Bradford Council), Bishop Toby Howarth (Bishop of Bradford), Sarfaraz Nazir (Council for Mosques), and a large cohort of local councillors and civic figures.

The event welcomed an impressive turnout from the public, with people from all backgrounds showing deep respect, admiration, and curiosity for the centuries-old Kiswah artefacts. Rashad Bokhari played a significant role throughout the exhibition, actively engaging with the curators and attendees, appearing in several group photos, and taking time to understand the historical and spiritual depth of each item.

His presence helped spotlight the themes of community empowerment, cultural dialogue, and interfaith unity—core aims of the Kiswat al-Kaaba initiative. The gathering marked a powerful demonstration of shared heritage, mutual respect, and the importance of preserving Islamic craftsmanship for future generations

Huddersfield Hosts Kiswat Al Kaaba Exhibition with Support from Rashad Bokhari and Local Leaders

The sacred ambiance of Markazi Jamia Masjid Ghausia in Huddersfield was elevated on Saturday, 17th May, as the Kiswat al-Kaaba Exhibition opened its doors to the public. Showcasing historic Kiswah artefacts from the Holy Kaaba and Madinah, the event was attended and supported by Rashad Bokhari, CEO of the Council for Mosques, who was accompanied by notable figures such as Dr Sofia Buncy MBE DL, Councillor Imran Safdar, and Councillor Alex Vickers

The event was a resounding success, attracting members of all ages from the Huddersfield community. Rashad Bokhari spent considerable time viewing the artefacts, holding rare pieces such as the key of Maqam Ibrahim, and engaging in deep discussion with Sheikh Ilyas. The two explored how this project could develop further into a permanent Kiswa Arts & Culture Gallery, a long-term vision that aims to preserve Islamic heritage and empower local communities

Bokhari pledged his support to the mission, offering to assist with strategic connections, photography documentation, and helping open doors for wider networking and partnerships. His presence reinforced the exhibition’s values of cultural education, faith-based collaboration, and unity. The event stood as a testament to the growing momentum behind the Kiswat al-Kaaba initiative and its growing role in interfaith and cultural dialogue in the UK
