On Saturday 22nd February, Bradford City Hall played host to a profound cultural and spiritual gathering as part of the Kiswat al-Kaaba Exhibition, showcasing sacred artefacts from the Holy Kaaba and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. Among the many dignitaries in attendance was Bradford East MP, Imran Hussain, who expressed deep admiration for the exhibition’s vision, authenticity, and impact

Mr Hussain, well-versed in the historical and religious significance of the Kiswah artefacts, spent an extended period in discussion with Sheikh Ilyas, exploring the heritage and craftsmanship behind the textiles and their symbolism. He commended the exhibition as a perfect reflection of Bradford’s role as UK City of Culture — a celebration of heritage, diversity, and community strength.
In a heartwarming show of unity and civic pride, Imran Hussain posed for photos alongside Cllr Susan Hinchcliffe, Dr Sofia Buncy MBE DL, and Tauseef Malik. Together, they shared in the spirit of cultural dialogue and interfaith harmony, praising the exhibition for empowering local communities and offering future generations a rare window into Islamic legacy

"The exhibition is not only a privilege for Bradford to host, but a gift for the generations to come," Mr Hussain commented. "It’s an incredible initiative that brings together faith, history, and unity — exactly the kind of event that reinforces Bradford’s unique cultural identity."
