✨ What an unforgettable day at Eden Girls School Coventry! ✨
A huge thank you to Eden Girls School Coventry for hosting our Kiswah Exhibition. It was an incredible day filled with learning, inspiration, and community spirit. 💚
Engaging Students with Islamic Heritage
📚 From 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, we welcomed Year 7 to Year 10 students. They immersed themselves in the history, craftsmanship, and significance of the Kiswa. The enthusiasm and thoughtful questions during the Q&A made it a truly memorable experience. It was heartwarming to see the students so engaged!
Community Connection After Jumu'ah
🕌 After Jumu'ah at Coventry Zeenatul Islam, we reopened the exhibition to the wider community from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Despite the scorching 34°C summer heat ☀️, the exhibition remained busy throughout the afternoon. Families and visitors appreciated the Kiswah, its artefacts, and the stories behind them.
It was an honour to welcome the school's governors, local councillors, and many community members. The support and positive feedback were overwhelming. We would love to return again in the future, in shā' Allāh!
A Heartfelt Thank You
🌟 A very special thank you goes to Hafsa Khalifa. She went above and beyond to make this event happen. From coordinating the event to arranging volunteers, catering, logistics, and ensuring everything ran smoothly—her dedication was truly exceptional. May Allah reward you abundantly. 🤲
A big thank you also to Shazia, the Principal, the senior leadership team, all the teachers, volunteers, marketing team, and everyone who helped with loading, unloading, registrations, crowd management, and making the day such a huge success. Together, we brought history to life through the Kiswa!
The Importance of Preserving Heritage
Preserving our heritage is essential for future generations. The Kiswah, a sacred covering of the Kaaba, holds immense significance in Islamic culture. It is not just a piece of fabric; it embodies the artistry and devotion of countless artisans. By sharing its story, we connect with our roots and foster a sense of belonging.
As we reflect on this event, we are reminded of the importance of education and community engagement. Events like the Kiswa Exhibition serve as a bridge, connecting different cultures and fostering understanding.
Looking Ahead
We are excited about the future and the potential of sharing more Islamic heritage across Europe. Our goal at Kiswat Al Kaaba is to establish the continent's first dedicated Islamic heritage museum. This museum will preserve and educate about invaluable artifacts for generations to come.
We invite everyone to join us on this journey! Together, we can celebrate our rich history and ensure that it is cherished and understood by all.
Until next time! 💚
