A Sacred Encounter at BIMA: Kiswat al-Kaaba Exhibition Inspires Thousands at National Medical Gathering
28th June 2025 | St. Paul’s Cathedral, Sancroft Hall – BIMA National Conference
In a landmark fusion of spirituality, culture, and healthcare, the Kiswat Al Kaaba Exhibition was honoured to be showcased at the BIMA National Conference 2025, held at the prestigious St. Paul’s Cathedral, Sancroft Hall.
With thousands in attendance, including leading Muslim medical professionals from across the UK, the day was a vibrant blend of knowledge-sharing, community bonding, and a deep appreciation of Islamic heritage. While BIMA delivered a packed schedule of presentations from high-ranking doctors and academics, the Kiswah Exhibition offered a unique spiritual and historical experience — bringing visitors face-to-face with sacred textiles from the Holy Kaaba and Rawdah.
Throughout the day, we engaged in rich conversations with hundreds of attendees, explaining our vision to establish the UK’s first Kiswa Arts & Culture Gallery. The reception was phenomenal — we met professionals across disciplines who resonated with our mission and pledged their support for the journey ahead.
Key Highlights:
Dr. Mohammed Wajid Akhtar (Muslim Council of Britain) honoured us with a personal walkthrough of the exhibition — an emotional moment of reflection and unity.
Shaykh Recep Şentürk expressed deep curiosity and admiration for the history and culture embedded in the artefacts. His visit was heartfelt and sincere.
Dr. Saliha Mahmood Ahmed, NHS doctor and MasterChef champion, spent time at the stand and offered kind words of encouragement.
Baroness Saeeda Warsi, whose stall was adjacent to ours, also visited and graciously gifted Sheikh Ilyas a personalised signed copy of her newly launched book — a touching gesture we truly value.
We owe special thanks to Brother Salman Waqar and Brother Imtiaz for offering us this powerful platform. Their efforts in organising such a high-calibre national event created an atmosphere of excellence, impact, and heartfelt connection.
Also present were esteemed individuals including: Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh, Rt Hon Zubir Ahmed, Professor Raghib Ali, Iqbal Nasim, Dr Saima Latif, Burhan Wazir, Dr Ammad Butt, Dr Mahera Ruby, Dr Mahibur Rahman, Dr Sameer Ahmed, Dr Saeed Ahmed, Dr Rizwan Malik, Abu Bakr Kalam, Ajaz Hussain, Dr Sahira Dar — many of whom visited our stand, supported our work, and helped amplify our message across the medical field.
From the warm hospitality and excellent food to the thought-provoking talks and heartfelt networking, the BIMA Conference 2025 was an unforgettable day. We are incredibly grateful to have been part of it.
The journey continues, and with this level of support, the dream of establishing the Kiswa Arts & Culture Gallery feels closer than ever.
