DEWSBURY TOWN HALL | SATURDAY 12TH JULY 2025


A truly historic and spiritually uplifting day as the Kiswat al-Kaaba Exhibition graced Dewsbury Town Hall – uniting heritage, faith, and community under one roof.

Organised with dedication and passion by Cllr Hanifa Darwan, Cllr Masood Ahmed, and Cllr Nosheen Dad, the event stood out as a shining example of collaboration and civic pride

 A special mention and heartfelt appreciation to Cllr Yusra Hussain (Batley) for her tireless work behind the scenes – her commitment and leadership were instrumental in bringing this vision to life

 Highlights of the Day:  Major reveal of an extremely rare Ottoman Kaaba Door Cover in white silk and gold – a moment of awe for all in attendance

 Three historic Kaaba Door Panels

 Original Locks & Keys from the Two Holy Mosques

 Samaadi Qandeel lanterns

 Hizaam Belts from the Ottoman and Saudi eras


 The day opened with a beautiful Adhan and Qur’an recitation, followed by a soulful duet by two Qaris, resonating deeply with all in the hall


 Walkthrough experiences for:

• Civic leaders and dignitaries

• Schools and children

• Families and general public


 This was not just a religious event – it was a multi-faith gathering, where individuals from diverse backgrounds and beliefs came together in unity, respect, and celebration of cultural and spiritual heritage


 A powerful reminder that exhibitions like this empower communities, inspire youth, and foster harmony
