A Once-in-a-Lifetime Event That Touched Thousands of Hearts

On Sunday 20th July 2025, Zia Ul Quran Masjid in Birmingham became the centre of spiritual awe and historical wonder, as it proudly hosted the Kiswat Al Kaaba Exhibition — a sacred journey through centuries of Islamic heritage, culture, and deep emotional reflection.

The event drew in an overwhelming crowd of thousands, filling every corner of the masjid and its grounds. Visitors from all walks of life – young and old, brothers and sisters, Muslims and guests of other faiths – gathered to witness the sacred artefacts from the Holy Kaaba and Madinah Al-Munawwarah.

Organised with passion and dedication by Adnaan Yaqub, Sheraz Yaqub, and the leadership of Zia Ul Quran Masjid, the event was a testimony to what unity, sincerity, and faith can achieve. Local volunteers – both brothers and sisters – played a monumental role in ensuring the smooth and spiritual flow of the day. Their selfless service radiated throughout the event.

Highlights of the Day

✨ Kiswa and Rare Artefacts Display

The exhibition featured the Kiswah of the Holy Kaaba, the covering of the Rawdah, and rare items from the two sacred sanctuaries. However, the moment that truly moved the hearts of the audience was the arrival and display of a most blessed relic — the Hair of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Emotions ran high, tears flowed, and hearts trembled at this spiritual gift.

📿 Qiraat & Nasheed Performances

The day began with a beautiful Qiraat by Hafiz Yusuf, setting a tone of reverence and humility. Throughout the day, artefact narrations inspired crowds, delivered with passion and historical depth. In the early afternoon, Hafiz Yusuf and Sheraz Yaqub joined voices in a soul-stirring Naat duet, including selections from Qasida al-Burda, honouring the life and beauty of the Prophet ﷺ.

🤝 Honoured Guests and Dignitaries

We were blessed with the presence of many distinguished guests including councillors, mayors, and local leaders. Among them were Shaikh Anis Ahmed, Hafiz Zaid, and Shaikh Muhammad Adil Nazir Saheb, whose presence added immense honour and blessing to the gathering. Their words of support and reverence uplifted the event further.

🕌 Spiritual Awakening in the Masjid

Zia Ul Quran Masjid saw hundreds of first-time visitors cross its threshold. Many who had never entered a masjid before stood in awe. Hearts were softened. The atmosphere was electric with duas, dhikr, and remembrance. The event ended with a blessed Khatmul Quran and a powerful dua.

Supporting the Future of Islamic Heritage

One of the greatest outcomes of this event was the support for the future: the vision of establishing a Kiswa Arts & Culture Gallery in the UK. With heartfelt appeals by Adnaan Yaqub and Sheraz Yaqub, generous donations poured in on the day – all to preserve, educate, and share this blessed heritage with generations to come.

Shaikh Anis Ahmed personally endorsed the Kiswat Al Kaaba initiative, offering his full encouragement and support for this noble project.

Jazakum Allah Khayran to Every Soul Who Contributed

From the organising team to every volunteer, donor, and visitor – your presence and support turned this into a day that will be remembered for years to come.

🌿 A Closing Dua:

O Allah, accept this effort sincerely for Your sake. Make it a source of guidance, barakah, and upliftment for our faith and our communities. Grant reward to every hand and heart that contributed, and bless their families, lives, and futures with light, mercy, and Your eternal pleasure. Ameen.
